The Shakedown

What is The Stag-O-Lee Shakedown?

Well, The Stag-O-Lee Shakedown was the name of our first label festival that took place on August 14. + 15. 2009 in our lovely hometown Beverungen. That's the middle of nowhere for you, somewhere in the heart of Germany. We had bands like Kitty Daisy & Lewis, The Fuzztones, Sweet Vandals, The Dynamics, Tav Falco & Panther Burns and a lot of others playing. It was a blast, but suffered from not enough people showing up.

So we re-thought our strategy and came to the conclusion that it is better to continue on a smaller scale. So this is what we are doing right now:

The Stag-O-Lee Shakedown
is a bi-monthly party/club night that is taking place at the Stadtkrug in Beverungen/Germany. We transform a nice and cozy German Gaststätte into a real 60s Rhythm & Soul club and selected Stag-O-Lee Allstars drop the hottest in 50s & 60s wild style.
We plan to organize a mini festival in 2010, way smaller than the first one. Most probably only 2 bands (plus djs) and definitely later in the year. Indoors and somewhere in our hometown Beverungen. We are still looking for the right venue, there aren't many choices.

The Stag-O-Lee Shakedown
now has an UK affiliate! My man Patrick has taken matters into his own hands and is trying to organize a bi-monthly shindig. After two great nights Pat had a dispute with the club owner, so we're currently looking for a new home.

The Shakedown
(without Stag-O-Lee) is also the name of a bi-weekly radio show on internet radio byte.FM. Stag-O-Lee head honcho R-man plays his favourite music, which will be a solid mixture of early soul, sweaty rhythm & blues, small doses of rock`n´roll. some mod-jazz und funky stuff, kick-ass 60s garage punk, seasoned with the best stuff from Jamaica in it's musical prime.
